What is Erosion?
There are many types of erosion but the main causes are weathering, gravity, movement of streams, groundwater, glaciers, wind and waves.
Weathering is the process by which rocks are chemically alteed or physically broken fragments at or near Earth's surface. There are two forms of weathering. MECHANICAL Weathering and CHEMICAL weathering. MECHANICAL weathering is when rocks physically break into smaller pieces of rock. This can happen through frost wedging, abrasion, or growth of plants roots. CHEMICAL Weathering is when rocks get broken down by chemical reactions.
